About the job Full Stack Engineer

Full Stack Engineer

TechTree is recruiting on behalf of an AI disinformation defence company. TechTree acts as the recruitment agency for this opportunity.

Location: United Kingdom
Working arrangement: Remote within the UK; travel to London approximately every six weeks
Employment: Full-time
Level: Mid-Senior Level

The opportunity

An AI company is building systems to help organisations detect and respond to disinformation attacks in real time. The platform combines machine learning, proprietary knowledge of attack and defence techniques, and large-scale, high-throughput data analysis. The founding team brings over forty years of combined experience building data systems used by national security and commercial organisations.

After strong early traction, the team is now accelerating the build-out of the platform.

The role

The client is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer - backend-leaning, with enough frontend comfort to own features end-to-end. You'll design and build systems from scratch across both layers, working without pre-existing frameworks and making architectural decisions independently from day one.

The team is ~15 people and growing. Responsibilities are broadly scoped by design - more complex problems are on the horizon, and you'll grow into them. Right now, expect mostly backend-driven frontend work in a fast-moving environment where ownership is the norm.

This is a remote role with travel to London approximately every 6 weeks.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end features across backend and frontend

  • Build scalable and maintainable systems from the ground up

  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering on architecture and technology choices

  • Explore and experiment with new technologies and approaches

  • Troubleshoot, optimise, and ensure performance across full-stack applications

Candidate Requirements

  • Around 5 years of professional software engineering experience

  • Backend-leaning full-stack - comfortable on the frontend, strongest in the backend

  • Go is preferred - candidates with Go experience are prioritised; genuine interest in learning Go is equally welcome

  • Versatility across languages is a positive signal; C# or Java backgrounds are fine if you're motivated to move to Go

  • Experience designing and implementing systems from scratch

  • Comfortable making architectural decisions independently without established frameworks

  • Startup experience or experience building products from scratch

  • Strong communicator - remote-first team, London meetups every ~6 weeks

Stack: Go · Python · SQL (Postgres) · NoSQL · Cloud infrastructure · CI/CD · Microservices

Benefits

  • Competitive salary + equity

  • Opportunity to shape the architecture and technology stack from day one

  • Collaborative, hands-on work environment

  • Flexible working policy

  • Remote with travel to London ~every 6 weeks
