Technical Procurement Specialist (m/f/d)

Job description

As Technical Procurement Specialist at Instagrid you will lead technical procurement processes by providing the best conditions in terms of quality, price, delivery terms, technology, and sustainability. You act as our interface between engineering, procurement, suppliers, and quality to define, negotiate, and award technical concepts or systems towards suppliers as part of our development projects.

As technical buyer you ensure cost optimization and cost-down projects through profound application of design-to-cost, target costing, standardization, and cost value engineering methods. By doing so, you are an active part in our product development process and contribute to the adherence of our overall sourcing strategy from engineering phase to series procurement.

In your main tasks you will be responsible for

• Performing market and supplier analyses with regard to new technologies and suppliers

• Defining scope and content of technical concepts that are in line with our make-or-buy outsourcing activities

• Accelerating the RFP or RFQ phase through detailed calculation of technical parts and or systems

• Engaging alongside our engineering department with design-to-cost and target costing price benchmarks in early NPI project phases

• Conducting international cost-down projects and workshop with our suppliers

• Supporting and influencing sourcing decisions in early development phases to comply with our procurement standards and strategies

Job requirements

• You have a technical education with a degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or a commercial education with deep technical understanding
• You have profound experience in mechanical or electromechanical manufacturing processes

• You have first and relevant professional experience for 5+ years in the context of technical buying specialist

• You are solution oriented, reliable and analytical, and you work in a structured way

• You are professional and clear in your collaboration with suppliers and confident in supplier negotiations

• You are a good communicator to your vendors and partners in the supply network

• Experience with NetSuite / Oracle is a plus

• You speak German and English fluently
