Senior Accountant

Provides high-level accounting support to Evening Post Publishing and its affiliates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to maintain certain balance sheet reconciliations across the company
• Responsible to maintain list of all balance sheet reconciliations for the company and track completeness
• Actively participate in monthly and quarterly financial reporting – journal entry preparation/posting, investigate variances, month end report creation and distribution
• Attend monthly financial review meetings and provide financial information as requested
• Review Foundation accounts and insure monthly billings are accurate and complete
• Assist with annual external financial review
• Backup support for daily bank deposits when staff accountant is out of the office
• Measure newspaper on weekdays and prepare postal numbers for circulation department
• Participate in special projects
• Assists in ensuring internal controls are adequate and followed
• Perform other duties as requested by management

Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or a Related Field
• Five years + of accounting experience, preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• A team player with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work remotely, if necessary, in a suitable workspace that meets safety guidelines
• Reliable access to internet services
