About the job Area Manager

Hamilton Aquatics is looking for a proactive, organised, and people‑focused Area Manager (Learn to Swim) to lead and support programme delivery across multiple sites. The role ensures that Programme Leaders and Development Coaches are aligned, informed, and performing in line with programme criteria. You will oversee quality assurance, staff performance, customer engagement, and operational optimisation to ensure each site meets its targets and upholds Hamilton Aquatics' values.

Key Objectives

  • To manage the area team effectively by working with the Programme Leaders and Development Coach by ensuring constant communication is upheld and regular meetings to ensure all staff are delivering in line with the programme criteria and adhere to company policies and uphold the Hamilton Aquatics Company Values.
  • To quality assure and carry out site visits of all staff who deliver within the Learn to Swim programmes.
  • To ensure maximum optimisation of the Learn to Swim sites within the area through class utilisation, new recruits, customer retention, class availability and timetabling so the site and area target can be met.
  • To lead marketing activities for the area with the focus of recruiting new swimmers into the programme under the guidance of the Marketing Manager.
  • To assist with recruitment for Learn to Swim positions and lead parts of the new joiner induction.
  • To manage all stakeholders in the area with the assistance of the Operations Assistant.
  • To represent Hamilton Aquatics in a professional and positive manner at all times, adhering to the company values.

Set of Required Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours

Desired Qualifications

  • Swim England Level 1 and 2 teaching aquatics
  • RLSS or NRASTC life saving qualifications
  • Tutor status in one of the following areas: lifeguarding, first aid or swimming teaching
  • Diploma in business, administration, or any other qualification related to the field

Desired Experience

  • Experience in delivering one programme or exit route outside of the Learn to Swim programme
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience delivering lessons to a range of abilities
  • Proven experience in a related field with administration and recruitment responsibilities
