About the job Director of Operations
About Evie’s Snacks
Evie’s is a fast-growing, better-for-you snack brand sourcing from our family-owned, regenerative pecan farms in South Texas. We’re reintroducing pecans to the modern consumer in a downright delectable way – with nostalgic flavors, premium sourcing, and a perfect crunch that keeps people coming back.
As Evie’s continues to scale nationally, we’re opening our first dedicated manufacturing and distribution facility in the Houston, Texas area. We’re looking for an experienced Director of Operations to help bring the site to life and lead it day to day.
About the Role
The Director of Operations will be the senior on-site leader responsible for helping stand up and run Evie’s first dedicated manufacturing and distribution facility. This person will work closely with the founders & process engineers during the build-out and pre-launch phase, then take ownership of plant operations across production, quality, maintenance, warehousing, inventory, and site performance.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong plant leadership with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset. You should be equally comfortable building food safety-conscious systems and SOPs, hiring and developing managers, and creating a culture of accountability on the floor.

Hire and lead the plant’s initial management team across key functions
Coach managers who will in turn hire and lead operators, technicians, and leads
Build a strong culture centered on safety, reliability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Operations, Quality & Reliability
Own day-to-day manufacturing operations across production, packaging, kitting, and distribution to our partners
Lead production planning execution and help align labor, equipment, and materials to operational goals
Oversee plant-level execution of food safety, quality, sanitation, traceability, and compliance standards
Build and lead an in-house maintenance function focused on equipment ownership, preventive maintenance, and uptime
Monitor and improve throughput, yield, downtime, waste, and labor productivity
Warehouse, Inventory & Cross-Functional Coordination
Own facility-side warehouse operations including receiving, storage, material flow, staging, and outbound readiness
Ensure inventory accuracy across raw materials, packaging, work-in-process, and finished goods
Partner cross-functionally to align plant execution with business needs and future scale
Travel occasionally, up to approximately 10%, as needed

Demonstrated ability to hire, lead, and develop managers in a fast-paced operating environment

Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, FSMA, allergen controls, GMPs, and audit readiness
Experience with kitting, multipack assembly, or secondary packaging operations
Experience working with ERP-supported production planning and inventory systems
Compensation & Perks
Salary range: $125,000-$150,000 depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus
