Overview
We are supporting a confidential search for two Construction Superintendent I roles within an established construction organization delivering complex, schedule-driven projects. These roles are designed for experienced field leaders who take pride in safety, organization, quality execution, and strong coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Both positions share a common foundation of hands-on field leadership but differ in project type and travel expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site construction operations, supervising field staff, subcontractors, and on-site support teams

• Maintain clear, professional communication with owners, design partners, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal leadership

• Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements

• Drive project schedules, sequencing work to meet critical milestones and turnover dates

• Coordinate inspections, testing, permits, site logistics, materials, equipment, and manpower

• Enforce quality control standards and oversee correction of deficient or non-conforming work

• Review subcontractor scopes to confirm full coverage and coordinate closely with project management prior to award and final payment

• Participate in jobsite meetings, field coordination meetings, and internal training programs

• Support project billing and subcontractor payment processes through accurate, timely field documentation

• Maintain organized, professional jobsites with a strong safety culture

Role Variations

Healthcare Construction Superintendent

• Leads projects in regulated, patient- and staff-sensitive environments

• Emphasis on precision, infection control awareness, safety, and coordination within active facilities

• Works on technically complex projects with strict compliance requirements

• Primarily local or regional assignments with limited travel

Large Retail Construction Superintendent

• Leads fast-paced, schedule-driven retail projects with multiple concurrent activities

• Emphasis on speed, sequencing, and consistent execution across locations

• Supports large-format retail buildouts and renovations

• Requires flexibility and willingness to travel between project sites

What Were Looking For

• Trade school, apprenticeship program, bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience

• 10+ years of construction experience, including at least 5 years in a superintendent or foreman role

• Experience in healthcare construction, large retail construction, or similarly complex environments

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain control of active jobsites

• Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills

• Comfortable using field technology and basic construction software

• Proven ability to influence subcontractors and teams to achieve results

• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
