My client is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join my clients team as a Junior Building Manager. Our company is a leading property management firm based in Stellenbosch, South Africa. We manage a diverse portfolio of student accommodation properties across the country, and we are looking for a talented individual to help us maintain and improve our properties.
As a Junior Building Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Building Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our properties. This includes managing tenant relations, coordinating repairs and maintenance, and ensuring that all properties are well-maintained and up to standard. You will also be responsible for handling tenant inquiries and complaints, as well as maintaining accurate records of all property-related activities.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in property management, with a focus on building maintenance and tenant relations. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with tenants, contractors, and other members of our team. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Building Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our properties
- Manage tenant relations and handle tenant inquiries and complaints
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance for all properties
- Ensure that all properties are well-maintained and up to standard
- Maintain accurate records of all property-related activities
- Assist with budget planning and monitoring expenses
- Conduct regular property inspections and address any issues that arise
- Communicate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality services
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement strategies for improving property management processes
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in property management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Property Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in property management, preferably in building maintenance and tenant relations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary
