About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Staff Accountant to take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting function across eight healthcare facilities.

This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing and publishing financial reports, and ensuring that each facility's financial performance is accurately tracked and reported.

The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple sets of financials in a high-volume environment. Experience within the healthcare industry would be beneficial, but is not essential. Strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to work independently are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting function across eight healthcare facilities.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
• Prepare, review, and publish monthly financial statements and management reports for all facilities.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial projections.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Perform and review bank reconciliations and manage cash flow activities.
• Conduct financial analysis, investigate variances, and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Monitor facility-level expenses, cost allocations, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes and reporting procedures.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide financial insights and reporting to support management decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, or in a similar accounting position.
• Strong general accounting experience, including general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end processes.
• Solid experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Experience managing multiple entities, business units, or sets of financials is highly advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Healthcare accounting experience would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and maintain accountability for financial deliverables.
