About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior QuickBooks Bookkeeper with a strong background in the legal industry to manage the financial operations of our firm. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of law firm accounting practices, trust accounting, and compliance requirements, combined with advanced proficiency in QuickBooks.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions, supporting leadership with timely and reliable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage the firms general ledger using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Handle accounts payable and receivable, client billing, and reconciliation of all bank and trust accounts.

Prepare and manage trust account reconciliations in accordance with legal accounting rules and regulations.

Process client invoices, retainers, and settlements while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, generating balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.

Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.

Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and financial reporting requirements.

Collaborate closely with attorneys and administrative staff to ensure financial records align with case activity and client accounts.

Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial data.

Assist with process improvements and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a legal firm environment.

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).

Strong understanding of trust accounting and legal compliance requirements.

Solid knowledge of GAAP and legal industry financial procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools/software.

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification (Diploma or Degree preferred).

Experience working with attorneys or legal billing systems (e.g., Clio, TimeSolv, or similar) is highly advantageous.
Preferred Skills:

Experience managing multi-entity accounting or handling trust accounts.
