Job Summary

The Marketing Coordinator, under general supervision of the Director of Marketing, supports the marketing department and the execution of integrated marketing initiatives that promote Scottsdale as a premier travel destination. This role serves as a destination ambassador by responding to visitor inquires and acts as a liaison for Experience Scottsdale members and Old Town Ambassadors.

  • Marketing Support: Support the marketing team in planning and executing campaigns and emails, including inputting work orders, gathering assets, managing the project management system, and compiling campaign overviews and recaps. Coordinate travel logistitics, contests, and campaign deliverables. Maintain website content, including forms, event calendar, and special offers pages. Manage monthly marketing co-op placements, including gathering materials and reporting. Compile performance data from the marketing team to produce monthly reports. Support presentation development for the Vice President of Marketing and Marketing Director.
  • Event Support: Serve as a liaison to event promoters to strengthen relationships and enhance event promotion, including city-funded events. Coordinate shipping, warehouse partnerships, and inventory management. Manage visitor services and materials delivery for major events and consumer trade shows.
  • Destination Ambassador: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to visitor inquiries via phone, email and voicemail, providing accurate and engaging travel information about Scottsdale and Arizona. Represent Experience Scottsdale at select community events.
  • Member Liaison: Support Experience Scottsdale members in using the website, including training sessions and assistance with posting offers and events. Coordinate collateral distribution to members and partners. Act as a liaison between Experience Scottsdale and Old Town Ambassasors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Proven excellence in customer service and administrative support
  • Proficient with internet and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong technical skills; ability to quickly and efficiently pick up new software such as Google Analytics, project management software, CRM, CMS, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated and ability to work independently

Preferred:

  • Scottsdale area/tourism industry knowledge

Education & Experience

Minimum of 2 years of marketing experience, including internships. Experience in the hospitality industry preferred. Administrative/support experience also preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job will primarily be remote with occasional work in an office setting. Active participation in outside meetings and destination activities may be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
