Summary

The Partner Development Manager supports the management and execution of Experience Scottsdale's partnership department with a focus on membership engagement. This role focuses on engaging current Experience Scottsdale members, Exceptionally Scottsdale partners and prospecting new members. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational and administrative skills with a collaborative, relationship-focused approach.

The Partner Development Manager, under general supervision of the Director of Partner Development, is supported by the Partner Development Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Membership Engagement: Plan and execute member engagement opportunities (educational sessions, networking events, site inspections, and staff presentations) in partnership with the Director. Support ongoing member relationship management, including proactive outreach, engaging members that may not be getting full value from their membership, and connecting members with internal resources. Manage Exceptionally Scottsdale partner program, including annual application process, partner onboarding, and roundtable discussions.
  • Membership Activation & Management Support: Manage membership application pipeline from prospect setup in database through approval, onboarding, and activation. Support Director in preparing internal communications for leadership review. Coordinate member onboarding experience, including introductory calls, benefits education, and internal team introductions. Maintain accurate member records and ensure timely updates on staffing or business changes. Support application follow-up and ensure completion of required documentation.
  • Membership Revenue & Retention: Oversee full membership billing lifecycle, including invoice creation, renewal scheduling, communications, collections, and delinquency management. Partner with accounting to ensure invoice accuracy and reconciliation. Produce and review monthly financial reports on dues collections. Drive member retention through proactive communication, benefit education, and account recaps. Manage annual member materials (e.g., decals, mailings).
  • LinkedIn Strategy: Execute LinkedIn strategy in partnership with Director of Partner Development and convention sales department. Track performance analytics and recommend optimizations.

  • Experience with LinkedIn or other professional social media platforms

  • Experience in partner development, membership or stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in tourism, hospitality, destination marketing or membership-based organizations

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years of work experience, which can include internships. Prefer experience in membership sales, account management, customer service or business development. Experience at a destination marketing organization or chamber of commerce or other hospitality industry experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for the indirect supervision of the Partner Development Coordinator.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job includes both work in an office setting and remote work. It also requires active participation in outside meetings and destination activities. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Minimal travel required.
