About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network and Security Engineer to join our high-performing Network Services team, working across both project delivery and operational support. Reporting to the Practice Manager Network Services, this hands-on role is focused on maintaining, securing, and optimising critical infrastructure for some of Australia's most essential organisations.

You'll play a key role in delivering resilient, scalable network and security solutions, ensuring high standards of performance, availability, and compliance across a mix of regulated and enterprise environments.

What You Will Do Here

• Deliver and support secure, high-performance network infrastructure across both project delivery and BAU operations
• Proactively monitor and maintain network and security systems, ensuring availability with optimal performance, Perform risk analysis to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and project managers to implement resilient infrastructure and security solutions
• Create and maintain accuracy in Network documentations, diagrams to support operational continuity.
• Ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and Essential Eight
• Provide afterhours support by participating in the on-call roster.

Who You Are

• 8+ years in Network Engineering and deployment, including 5+ years in Network Security Solutions within a Managed Services / Professional Services environment
• Certified in Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) - Fortinet Certified Associate or Professional preferred
• Working knowledge of Cloudflare SaaS security products (e.g., WAF, Zero Trust, DNS, Load Balancing)
• Skilled in enterprise routing and switching (Cisco, Arista); CCNP or equivalent preferred
• Familiar with VPN/IPSec, Cisco ISE and load balancers technologies (Kemp, F5, NetScaler)
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to details, team collaborator with excellent communication skills.
• Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or similar
• Understanding of compliance frameworks, especially within the financial sector
• Scripting or automation knowledge is a bonus
