About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Initiatives Lead to identify and build commercially viable business cases that support the company's long-term strategy, with M&A and other types of strategic partnerships being a key component.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate finance and M&A, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.


Reporting Line: Global Chief Financial Officer

Location: UK

Worksite: hybrid / remote


Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership and external M&A consultants to create and refine the M&A exit strategy for the Exante & Velexa group. This includes identifying potential buyers, assessing market conditions, and defining key valuation metrics.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for all M&A-related activities. Prepare and present detailed reports and project updates to senior management and the board of directors.

  • Data Room Management: Create, maintain, and coordinate the quarterly update of the data room for potential investors and M&A consultants. Ensure all financial, legal, and operational documents are accurate, organized, and confidential.

  • Financial Analysis and Valuation: Develop, maintain, and update valuation models and financial projections to support the exit strategy. Analyze industry-specific multipliers and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess potential offers effectively.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity, with a focus on M&A transactions, particularly on the sell-side.

  • Skills: Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects under tight deadlines. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the financial services or fintech industry. Familiarity with M&A processes, legal frameworks, and due diligence best practices is essential.

  • Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Must demonstrate a high degree of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information. A strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
