Mobile Optometric Technician - Orlando, Florida

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Optometric Technician to join this mobile optometry team in the Winter Haven, Orlando, and Ocala regions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, has a strong work ethic, and values a consistent weekday schedule with great benefits.

Travel Locations would include Orlando, the greater Orlando area, Ocala, and Winter Haven.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to scheduled locations using a company-provided vehicle for mobile optometry visits
• Prepare patients for optometric exams by obtaining medical histories and performing pre-examination testing (including visual acuity, tonometry, autorefraction, etc.)
• Set up and maintain optometric equipment
• Assist the optometrist during patient visits and procedures
• Educate patients on eye care, contact lens usage, and follow-up procedures
  
• Document patient information accurately and maintain records in accordance with HIPAA and practice protocols
• Ensure a professional and friendly patient experience
• Handle administrative tasks as needed

Compensation:

• $19-20 per hour to start
• Pay increase opportunity after 3 months based on performance
• Most days average 5-8 hours, but you will be paid for a minimum of 8 hours even if you work less.

Additional Details:

• Monday through Friday schedule; enjoy your weekends off
• All gas expenses covered
• Full-time W2 employment status

Requirements:

• Prior experience as an optometric technician or similar healthcare role preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and adapt to new environments
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
