  • About the service

You will lead an Exceeding-rated, 50-place, community-managed not-for-profit early childhood education and care service on Sydney's North Shore.

Co-located with an outside school hours care program, the service is supported by a full-time administrator and an experienced Educational Leader. This structure allows you to focus on supporting the team, building trusted relationships with families and responding to the needs of the community the service exists to support.

The service has a strong local identity and longstanding relationships with the families who attend. It welcomes children, families and educators from a range of backgrounds, with its practices shaped by the community's needs, values and cultural calendar.

The team is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and supportive environment where children, families and educators feel valued. You will work alongside the Educational Leader, who retains responsibility for curriculum and pedagogical leadership, and the full-time administrator, who manages the service's day-to-day administration.

About the role

You will work with the organisation's leadership and service team to maintain a positive workplace culture and ensure the service continues to provide a safe, consistent and welcoming experience for children and families.

You will interpret changes to government policy, regulation and compliance requirements, update relevant policies and practices, and support the team to implement them effectively.

The role offers genuine flexibility in how you structure your 38-hour working week, while maintaining the visibility, availability and accountability expected of a Centre Director.

  • Genuine respect for the service's cultural identity, calendar and community expectations
  • Eligibility and willingness to act as Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person
  • A current Working with Children Check and the required child protection and first aid credentials, or the ability to obtain them before commencement
