About the job Centre Director - Community managed, exceeding service
We seek an experienced Centre Director to lead a high-performing, community-managed, not-for-profit, 55-place early learning service. The service has achieved an Exceeding rating of 7/7 in all NQS Quality Areas for three successive A&Rs, most recently in 2023.

About the service
This not-for-profit service, governed by a professional parent-led Committee of Management, features four beautifully designed learning environments (all above educator-to-child ratios). The outdoor age-appropriate learning environments feature vegetable gardens, sandpits and outdoor role-play kitchens and are designed to connect children with nature. Children benefit from excursions to the library next door and other nearby attractions, bush kindy, and an array of incursions.
As the Centre Director, you will:
- Drive excellence in governance, compliance, and practice.
- Partner with the Educational Leader to embed play-based pedagogy and deliver exceptional educational outcomes.
- Oversee full compliance across NQF standards & VEYLDF alignment.
- Mentor, guide, and inspire a professional team of 35, promote reflective practice, and facilitate professional development.
- Engage and nurture meaningful relationships with families, local communities, and other stakeholders.
- Guide strategic initiatives, budgeting, and transparent governance.
- Maintain service sustainability through strong organisational leadership.
What we are looking for
- Diploma or Bachelor in ECEC (ACECQAequivalent)
- Minimum 5 years in Centre Manager/Nominated Supervisor roles, ideally with like-minded organisations
- In-depth knowledge of NQF/NQS legislation and superior Assessment & Rating outcomes
- An action-oriented leader who can think on their feet with exceptional problem-solving skills
