Chiller Technician

 Job Description:

The job holder will be primarily responsible for managing installation and perform maintenance, service repairs and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems. Building automation systems to maintain ASHRA, OSHA, and indoor air quality standards

Primarily responsible for the day to day operations at Expo 2020 site.
Perform maintenance and service repairs on pneumatic controls, electric controls and humidity controls
Develop and implement Chiller plant technical support for both controls and mechanical. Maintenance and service repairs on split system air conditioning units such as: accidents, acid wash coils, pressure and temperature controls, setting mechanical unloaders, Glycol feeders, Thermal energy storage plants, and CFC data recordings to comply with EPA.
Perform maintenance and service repairs for heating systems such as: hot water boilers, steam boilers, glycol feeder, boiler combustion efficiencies and all gas fired resolving problems.
Perform maintenance and service repair on custom and packaged air handling units, unit ventilators, cabinet unit heaters, chilled and hot water fan coils units and exhaust fans.
Perform maintenance and service repairs on control air compressors and refrigerated air dryers.
Develop and implement technical support to building automation systems such as: LCP, direct digital controls, networking and building control upgrades.
Implement indoor air quality control and conduct confidential reports to risk management on IAQ issues and act as a liaison for technical support for resolving problems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and supervise contractors within the district.
Monitor and test water conditions in hot water and chilled water systems using chemical treatment and glycol.
Perform maintenance and service repairs on hot water and chilled water piping, along with air and hydronic balancing.
May assist other trades as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualification High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school

Experience (experience required for the job) Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods Outstanding communication skills Great attention to detail and a result driven approach Reliable and Trustworthy Ability to train, instruct, and oversee other trades workers Advanced knowledge of Direct Digital Controls, refrigeration systems and asbestos awareness. Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Operating knowledge of refrigeration reclaimer; vacuum pump, gauges and scale; DX-9100, LCP UNT, AHU hardware controls; volt, amp and ohm meters; dial indicators; and other hand and power tools required by trade.

Skills (general job knowledge & skills) Ability to perform math computations needed in trade. English language skills. Personal computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
