AFL Technician
Job Description:
Purpose of Role:
To perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical equipment and systems (individually or as part of a technical team) while minimizing operational disruptions. Responsible for technical supervision and ensuring compliance with Dubai Airports' safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical isolations and LOTO procedures
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines
- Perform corrective maintenance (CM) and breakdown maintenance (BD)
- Technically supervise airfield lighting electrical tradesmen
- Maintain various airfield lighting systems including:
- High mast system lighting
- Low mast street lighting
- Runway lighting (quartz, incandescent, LED)
- Taxiway lighting (quartz, incandescent, LED)
- Rotating beacons
- Guidance signage and lighting
- Constant current regulators (CCR)
- Automatic switching devices (ASD)
- Associated cabling and connectors
- Fibre Optic circuits
Qualifications:
- High School Certificate
- 3-year Industrial Training Institute Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Maintenance or equivalent
- IOSH Working Safety Certificate or equivalent
- Valid UAE driving license (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in airfield lighting or similar environment
Required Skills:
- Fluent English communication (oral/written)
- Technical report writing using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Safe operation of complex API equipment and systems
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics
