MEP Engineer
Job Description:
Job Summary
The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing operations to ensure the effective functioning, maintenance, and reliability of all building systems. The role involves technical leadership, project oversight, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and ensuring all MEP activities meet standards, timelines, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Operations & Technical Oversight

Ensure high-quality engineering and maintenance services across all MEP systems.

Possess in-depth knowledge of MEP equipment, components, design, and building services.

Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and sequence of operations.

Conduct site inspections to evaluate system performance, identify issues, and ensure compliance with standards.

Plan, schedule, and supervise MEP works, ensuring efficient use of manpower and resources.

Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and repair of MEP systems and associated equipment.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs aligned with SLAs and KPIs.

Monitor daily operations, respond promptly to breakdowns, and ensure adherence to service-level targets.
Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, MV/LV panels, DBs, SMBs, and control circuits.

Handle installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, and machinery in line with specifications.

Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including compressors, condensers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and control valves.

Provide technical expertise in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and ensure proper operation and preventive care.

Manage plumbing works including piping installations, drainage systems, fixtures, and water supply components.
Technical Troubleshooting & Quality Control

Perform audits and inspections to verify completion and quality of tasks.

Maintain detailed records of maintenance, materials used, system performance, and technical reports.

Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and electrical safety protocols.

Identify areas for improvement and provide engineering solutions for optimal system performance.
Team Leadership & Coordination

Guide technicians, assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate work performance.

Provide technical coaching, identify training needs, and promote skill development.

Foster an environment of open communication, teamwork, and high performance.

Coordinate with other departments, service providers, and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of works.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to PTW, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and safe work practices.

Participate in toolbox talks, safety trainings, and risk assessments.

Ensure proper use of PPE and safe systems of work in all electrical and mechanical activities.
Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

5 to 8 years of experience in MEP operations, facility management, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical panels, plumbing networks, and building services.

Proficiency in reading drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

Hands-on experience in MEP planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and system audits.

Excellent troubleshooting skills in electrical systems, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.

Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and best industry practices.

Strong understanding of safety standards, PTW systems, electrical safety, and risk management.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Physically fit and capable of handling onsite technical tasks.

Flexibility to work shifts, long hours, or emergency call-outs as required.
