Xero Accountant (Full-Time | Onsite – Initial Stage)
We are hiring a Xero Accountant on behalf of our Sydney-based client, a professional business services firm that supports clients in achieving growth through financial expertise and strategic advisory.
This role offers exposure to larger clients, complex business structures, and high-net-worth individuals, where you will deliver accounting, tax, and advisory services while also supporting junior team members in their development.
Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 8,000 per month (depending on skills & experience)
Work Arrangement: Onsite required during the initial 2–3 months
Key Responsibilities
Client Focus
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns, activity statements, bookkeeping, and related workpapers for clients across various industries
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strong attention to detail while minimizing rework
- Apply technical knowledge to improve client outcomes and take on increasingly complex tasks
- Communicate professionally and promptly with team members to support efficient service delivery
- Identify value-added opportunities to better support clients
Team Focus
- Collaborate with both Malaysian and Australian team members to deliver high-quality work
- Contribute to team discussions to enhance collaboration and value delivery
- Support onboarding and development of new team members as a buddy
Firm Focus

Support financial and operational goals by:
- Meeting individual budgets, deadlines, productivity, and recoverability targets
- Maintaining accurate daily timesheets

Continuously develop technical and professional skills through:
- Independent research on technical matters
- Participation in training and development programs
- Active contribution in team meetings
- Contribute to improvements in the firm's systems and processes
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience in a client servicing role
- Proven experience working with Xero accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Software experience:
- Preferred: Xero, MYOB, Smart Workpapers, Microsoft 365 (especially Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Additional: QuickBooks, BGL, FYI Docs

- Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident in problem-solving, researching tasks, and working effectively with an Australia-based team across onshore and offshore locations
