We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Semi-Senior Payroll Officer to join our client's well-established, Hong Kong-based corporate services group, which has been supporting businesses for over three decades. The company provides a comprehensive, one-stop solution for businesses entering or operating in Hong Kong, China, and other onshore and offshore jurisdictions. Their services include company formation, statutory compliance, accounting, payroll, visa processing, and trade support. They leverage cloud technologies such as Xero and digital compliance tools to streamline operations, serving a broad client base that includes overseas and local businesses from small startups to multinational enterprises. Their clients span entrepreneurs, consultancies, manufacturers, trading firms, SMEs, and other startups.
This position is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes for a portfolio of corporate clients across Hong Kong and Singapore. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in handling payroll matters for the Hong Kong and Singapore markets, with proficiency in Chinese, preferably Cantonese.
Responsibilities
- Handle monthly payroll processing for a portfolio of corporate clients.
- Manage MPF enrolment, monthly contribution filings, and annual Employers Return (IR56B/F/G) submissions.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports, leave records, and salary reconciliation.
- Provide advisory support to clients on employment tax, benefits, and payroll compliance in Hong Kong.
- Maintain and update payroll data in the system accurately and confidentially.
- Liaise with the Inland Revenue Department and MPFA on payroll-related matters.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree holder in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years payroll processing experience, preferably in professional/corporate services firms.
- Solid understanding of Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF regulations, and tax filing procedures.
- Detail-oriented with a strong numerical sense.
- Good communication skills in English and Cantonese/Mandarin.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll systems (experience with Workstem, ADP, or similar is an advantage).
