About the Business

Our client is a well-established and growing construction services group operating across multiple divisions, supporting building sites, infrastructure projects and major events.

With a strong reputation in the market and a focus on innovation, safety and operational excellence, the business is entering its next phase of growth and requires a commercially astute finance leader to support that journey.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Group Accountant will take full ownership of financial operations while partnering with leadership to improve profitability, strengthen cashflow, and support strategic decision-making.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working across both operational finance and commercial analysis in a fast-paced SME environment.

What you'll do:

• Lead month-end close, reconciliations, management reporting, and Board packs.
• Oversee cashflow, AP/AR, payroll, and financial compliance.
• Deliver divisional and product-level profitability analysis, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support strategic planning.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, including offshore resources.
• Drive process improvements and partner with operational teams to strengthen financial discipline.

About you:

• Degree qualified in Accounting/Finance, CPA/CA preferred.
• 5+ years experience in SME or multi-division accounting roles.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills (Xero advantageous).
• Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable operating autonomously.
• Solutions-focused, accountable, and confident in a highly visible role.
