About the Company:
Our client is a niche engineering consultancy providing end-to-end grid connection solutions. They specialise in HV asset testing, commissioning, and project delivery for renewable energy projects, helping clients reduce grid connection complexities and risks.
Role Overview:
We are seeking Testing & Commissioning Engineers to work on greenfield and brownfield HV substations as well as utility-scale solar and renewable projects. The role reports to the Commissioning Manager and involves commissioning, GPS compliance, AEMO approvals, and collaboration with project development and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform commissioning and testing of HV substations and renewable assets
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and ITPs/ITRs
- Conduct energisation and advanced protection testing (line distance, transformer differential, CB management)
- Support SCADA, control system, and signal testing for substation and solar farm assets
- Collaborate with clients, TNSPs, AEMO, and internal teams
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advanced Diploma in Power Systems
- Minimum 3 years experience on Australian projects with full working rights
- Experience in utility substations and/or solar farm testing and commissioning
- Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, protection, and control systems
- Knowledge of network connection rules, AEMO guidelines, and relevant testing authorities
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
