- Type of Employment: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
- Period of Performance: 15 February 2026 to 30 September 2026 (with options)
- Estimate Pay: $22.62 per hour

- Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, which starts accruing on the day of hire.
- Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, which starts occurring on the day of hire.

Summary of Services
The Phlebotomist will provide services which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below. Therefore, the contractor shall be capable of performing all necessary Phlebotomist procedures without technical support.
Attire
The Phlebotomist is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (only scrub uniforms or cargo pants/polo shirts are approved). The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing.
Working Hours
The working hours for the Phlebotomist will normally be between 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. These hours may be adjusted to meet the institution's needs. The contractor should not exceed 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Phlebotomist school or program.
- Current licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.
- Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a phlebotomist.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintenance of a laboratory waiting list and placing inmates on callout as needed.
- Perform venipuncture on patients for analysis or other medical purposes when necessary.
- Collect and process Urinalysis.
- Daily maintenance of laboratory equipment, including advising the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) when equipment requires professional maintenance or repair.
- Biological specimen preparation and packaging for shipment to contract laboratories.
- Maintenance of laboratory logs and other records as necessary for complying with CLIA guidelines.
- Informing COR of all information pertaining to the services rendered, i.e., specimen(s) obtained.
- Maintain supplies to perform phlebotomy services, including advising COR when supplies need to be ordered.
- Report any problems in regard to laboratory services to the COR or his/her designee.
- Other duties as assigned.
