Job Summary
The Waste Water Operator is in-charge of the daily operations of sewage treatment plant and sewer network ensuring efficiency and compliance to applicable laws and regulations.Duties and Responsibilities
PLANT
OPERATION EFFICIENCY
·
Operate and monitor sewage treatment plant
equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and chemical treatment systems, to
ensure optimal performance.
·
Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep sewage
treatment plant equipment and systems in good working condition.
·
Conduct preventive maintenance activities according
to established schedules to prevent equipment failures and prolong the lifespan
of plant assets.
·
Escalate immediately to immediate head
any issues or abnormalities and/or parts for immediate replacement and
procurement as required for repairs and maintenance activities.
· Monitor and
maintain appropriate levels of chemicals and other treatment agents used in the
sewage treatment process.
SEWER
NETWORK EFFICIENCY
·
Conduct inspections of sewer lines, manholes, and
other infrastructure components to assess their condition and identify any
signs of damage, blockages, or leaks.
·
Perform sewer line cleaning and clearing activities
using specialized equipment such as jet vacuums and rodding machines to remove
debris, roots, and other obstructions.
·
Respond promptly to sewer system emergencies, such
as overflows or backups, and take appropriate measures to contain spills,
mitigate environmental impacts, and restore normal operation.
·
Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and
execute sewer system upgrades, expansions, or rehabilitation projects as
needed.
WATER QUALITY COMPLIANCE and REPORTING
·
Maintain accurate records of plant operations,
maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance measures, including data on
effluent quality, chemical usage, and equipment performance.

Prepare and submit reports to immediate head
regularly.
Technical Competencies and Skills
• Must be certified Industrial Electrician, with 2-3 years’ experience exposure to industrial maintenance. • Experienced Welder/Mechanic • Valid Driver’s License (4 Wheels) • Pleasing personality and good communication skills. • Has good attention to details. • Able to work independently and achieve efficient results with minimum supervision. • Demonstrates high integrity and accountability in all dealings. • Delivers excellent customer service with a high degree of professionalism. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysEducation, Trainings and Licenses Required
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in wastewater treatment, environmental science
