The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of hotel facilities, utilities, and equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations. The role involves conducting inspections, supervising preventive maintenance, attending to guest and departmental requests, and ensuring compliance with safety and energy-saving measures. The Shift Engineer also prepares shift reports, incident documentation, and engineering plans when needed, while coordinating with other departments and mentoring technicians to uphold high service and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor hotel facilities, utilities, and equipment to ensure smooth operations and acceptable working parameters.
  • Conduct daily inspections of engineering areas and supervise preventive maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and submit shift turnover reports, incident reports, and daily engineering activity updates.
  • Attend to guest and departmental requests, and deploy technicians to resolve issues promptly.
  • Coordinate repair and maintenance schedules with other departments to minimize service disruption.
  • Implement and recommend energy-saving measures, ensuring efficient use of utilities.
  • Mentor and supervise technicians, ensuring adherence to safety standards, proper work practices, and customer service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with Fire & Life Safety procedures, PPE usage, and safe engineering practices.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, or with equivalent relevant experience in hotel engineering.
  • College graduate, preferably with a background in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 1 to 3 years of combined experience in project/contractor management, equipment supervision, or hotel engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge with proficiency in computer applications; well-versed in AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proven leadership and relationship management skills, with the ability to mentor and supervise a team.
  • Flexible to work long hours, shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Willingness to work in Muntinlupa City.
