Job Summary

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive customer acquisition, revenue growth, and brand visibility in the power and energy market. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, crafting tailored energy solutions, and promoting the company’s value proposition across customer segments such as industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. The position also leads marketing efforts to position the company competitively within the deregulated electricity market.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Sales Acquisition

·     Develop and implement sales strategies for retail electricity supply or power generation services.

·     Lead the end-to-end sales cycle—from prospecting and proposal development to contract negotiation and closing.

·     Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to drive tailored energy solutions.

 

Client Account Management and Retention

·     Manage and grow relationships with key accounts to ensure client satisfaction and long-term retention.

·     Monitor energy usage profiles, billing concerns, and contract performance to ensure service continuity.

·     Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated client issues or inquiries.

 

Marketing and Branding Strategy

·     Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns (digital, events, collaterals) to support brand positioning and lead generation.

·     Develop marketing materials that communicate the technical and commercial value of energy services.

·     Coordinate with external agencies, internal teams, and cross-functional units to promote offerings.

 

Reporting and Compliance

·     Track and report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and market coverage.

·     Ensure compliance with ERC, DOE, and IEMOP regulations, particularly in marketing, contracting, and account transitions (e.g., RCOA switching).

·     Collaborate with Legal and Regulatory teams on proper documentation and contract formats.

 

Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Education, Trainings and Licenses Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Economics, • Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage, • At least 8–10 years of experience in sales or marketing within the power, • Experience with Retail Electricity Suppliers (RES), power generation companies, • Strong interpersonal, analytical, strategic thinking skills, • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
