Machinist

Job Summary

Responsible for the fabrication, machining and repair of all equipment handed to the machine shop from the Main Block, BOP, Water Treatment Plant, Coal & Ash Handling, and other requests inside the plant premises.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform fabrication, welding, repairs and machining works in the machine shop. Set-up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.

2. Perform routine maintenance (including cleaning) tasks on assigned machines as required. To observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.

3. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to. Must be familiar to safety standards, safe operating procedures and safe work practices such as the use of PPE’s, the use of proper tools intended to their purpose. Must also report any Hazard and/or safety related conditions.

4. Ensure that all job-related paperwork and technical reports are accurately completed and submitted.

5. Contribute to the team ethics and perform other reasonable duties as required in support of the business.

6. Perform other functions not limited to tasks related to the job such as committee and cross training functions if designated.

Technical Competencies and Skills

Computer literate – Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, Can read and evaluate drawings, Expert knowledge to operate and maintain Lathe Machine, Expert knowledge to operate and maintain Milling Machine, Expert knowledge to operate and maintain Shaper Machine, Welding knowledge - Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding is an Advantage, Customer service oriented for both internal and external customers, Capable of communicating to all levels in the organization and able to express ideas clearly, Understanding and awareness of Environment, Good organization skills, Administrative writing and communication skills, Analyzing Information and numerical ability, Keen to details, Ability to work under pressure, Respond to customers’ correspondence in appropriate manner, Results-driven and patient, Can work independently and knows how to prioritize work assignment

Education, Trainings and Licenses Required

Graduate of BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Mechanical Technology, Machining NC II
