Lead Advisor
Job Description:
Our client is a fee-only firm located in the Oregon metropolitan area. They are seeking a Lead Advisor to join their team. The lead advisor will serve as the connection between our clients and the support teams, under the guidance of our Senior Advisors. The Lead Advisor is a great communicator, team player, and enthusiastic person who supports and demonstrates our firm's vision, positive culture, and team orientation.
The firm's Lead Advisors are highly experienced and focus on overseeing the client journey to ensure a consistently positive client experience that holds true to our vision. They may develop new client relationships; train, supervise, and mentor other staff members; contribute to marketing campaigns, and help refine processes and procedures with our operations team.
Responsibilities:
Leads Client Relationships
- Engages directly with clients to best support their decision-making, investments, and financial outcomes in the lead role.
- Advises client by understanding their needs, objectives, goals, and concerns
- Leads the development, presentation, and implementation of financial plans
- Leads client meetings and is responsible for client engagement
- Responsible for communication and client representation with other professionals (CPAs, attorneys etc.)
- Provides periodic oversight, in line with firm procedures, to ensure the needs of the client are being met
Drives Growth of the Firm
- Develops and converts prospects into clients to facilitate firm growth
- Builds and executes on marketing efforts and Centers of Influence relationships to build business opportunities for referral relationships
- Communicates with people outside the organization, representing the firm to professionals, the community, and other external groups
Develops Talent
- Trains, supervises, and helps advisors formulate and sharpen their professional skills.
- Identifies and executes on the successful transition of client relationships to other advisors in support of the team.
Serves as a leader in the firm
- Solves problems creatively by analyzing information and evaluating results to recommend solutions.
- Supports the team on technical, financial planning,g and investment planning needs, systems, or process-related topics.
- Follows compliance requirements to maintain an effective and robust investment advisory compliance program.
- Provides procedural oversight and supervisory duties to reporting advisors.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensing
- A bachelor's degree with CFP® or similar with pursuit of advanced designation/degree (CPA, CFA, ChFC, etc.).
- 3+ years of experience in a direct advisory capacity in financial services.

Desired Skills and Expertise
- Demonstrated ability to successfully grow and nurture client relationships from initial onboarding through the first year.
- Mastery of technical financial planning skills to efficiently analyze, prepare, and present client financial plans, with expertise in one or more advanced area (taxes, estate planning, etc).
- Time management and technical skills to handle client load within targeted time expenditures.
- Demonstrated ability to calmly and clearly lead clients through complex decision-making processes and highly emotional life events.
- Internal Metrics:
- Lead 30+ client relationships, 10 in a mentoring capacity.
- Nurture 10 Tier 1 relationships from onboarding through the first year with minimal support from senior advisor.
- Lead/service around $500k in annual revenue.
- 3+ years of experience in advisory role and/or 5+ years in professional role.
