Lead Financial Advisor
Job Description:
Our client is a fee-only firm, located in Orlando, FL. They are seeking a Lead Financial Advisor to join their team in a unique succession opportunity, working alongside a senior advisor who plans to retire within the next 12 - 18 months. This role is designed for an experienced advisor who excels at deepening client relationships, delivering thoughtful advice, and providing continuity during a planned transition.
The Lead Advisor will step into primary responsibility for an established book of clients, focusing on delivering proactive, comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance while maintaining the highest standard of care.
Your Impact
Client Leadership & Relationship Stewardship
- Serve as the primary advisor for an established group of client relationships
- Build trust and continuity through a thoughtful transition from the retiring advisor
- Lead client meetings, present recommendations, and guide clients through key financial decisions
- Deliver a proactive service experience with consistent communication and follow-up
- Deepen existing relationships by identifying opportunities to expand planning engagement and services
- This role is not focused on new client acquisition; success is measured by client retention, satisfaction, and relationship depth
Financial Planning & Advice
- Develop, present, and maintain comprehensive financial plans aligned with client goals
- Independently establish planning assumptions and strategic recommendations
- Advise clients across retirement, tax, estate, and investment planning
- Provide clear, practical guidance tailored to each client's situation
Investment Management
- Design and implement portfolio strategies aligned with client objectives and risk tolerance
- Oversee portfolio rebalancing and ongoing investment adjustments
- Maintain and update Investment Policy Statements (IPS)
- Communicate investment philosophy, strategy, and performance with clarity and confidence
Transition & Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with the transitioning advisor to ensure a seamless and confident client experience
- Collaborate with service advisors and operations teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service
- Provide guidance and support to team members as needed
- Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of firm technology
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- CFP® certification required
- 7–10+ years of experience in financial planning and client-facing advisory roles
- Proven ability to manage and retain client relationships
- Strong expertise in financial planning, investment management, tax, and retirement strategies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client confidentiality
- Experience operating within a regulatory environment and understanding of compliance requirements
- Proficiency in financial planning and portfolio management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
