The Intermediate Atlassian Systems Administrator will assist in the administration, configuration, and integration of tools within the Atlassian suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and related plugins). This position will help develop and maintain integration with other products used by the company and support reporting needs across teams, departments, and projects.

The role requires a solid understanding of Jira products and their system implications, as well as a working knowledge of tool integration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the management and governance of the enterprise Atlassian suite, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policies, processes, and procedures to uphold standards and best practices.
  • Create user guides, provide user training and enablement, and participate in the Atlassian Steering Committee.
  • Assist with the configuration, implementation, and documentation of Atlassian tools.
  • Collaborate with other Atlassian administrators to deliver and maintain effective solutions for users.
  • Ensure the scalability, sustainability, and manageability of the Atlassian suite in accordance with industry standards.
  • Support data integrity at all levels (team, department, program, portfolio, line of business, and enterprise).
  • Enforce enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-service mentality at all times, representing the standard for service to all internal Atlassian users
  • Conduct Atlassian demos, training, and user enablement.
  • Serve as a support and escalation point for users and internal customers.
  • Advise stakeholders and internal customers on best practices, configuration, and recommendations to avoid common pitfalls.
  • Assist with change requests, assessing impacts on the Atlassian suite and risks to architecture, data integrity, and sustainability.
  • Participate in planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and communicating changes.
  • Create and manage configuration elements, including templates, screens, workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Atlassian Suite Administration; deep hands-on expertise with Jira
  • Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and others
  • Hands-on expertise supporting key third-party add-ons (Advanced Roadmaps, PowerBI for Jira, PowerAutomate for Jira, Jira ProForma, Jira Assets, etc.)
  • A working knowledge of agile and kanban practices
  • Conceptual and practical understanding of SDLC, ITIL, CI/CD, and Agile Frameworks
  • Experience with API lifecycles and building, documenting, and using diverse APIs
  • Deep level of business customer understanding and business use cases for the Atlassian suite
  • Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a collaborative attitude
  • Self-starter with a keen interest in technology and highly motivated toward success
  • Able to work independently and provide updates to management
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; proven teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • IT Service Management and Project Management experience preferred
  • Bachelors Degree
  • ITIL Foundations Certified
  • Jira Administration for Cloud Certification
  • Confluence Administration Certification
  • Understanding of Github and the connection with Jira
  • Experience using Atlassian API integrations
