Were supporting a major transformation partner to appoint a Program Director to lead one of Australia's most significant core banking migration programs, a multi-year initiative reshaping the technology and operating backbone of a leading financial institution.

This is a pivotal role at the intersection of technology, strategy, and execution, overseeing multiple delivery streams from architecture and data migration through to integration, testing, and go-live.

The successful candidate will act as both strategic advisor and delivery leader, driving outcomes, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring the program achieves measurable business impact.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale core banking migration and transformation.

  • Oversee workstreams covering data migration, integration, testing, and platform transition.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across executive and delivery teams.

  • Provide strategic program direction and ensure alignment between technology and business outcomes.

  • Champion governance discipline, risk management, and transparent communication across the program.

  • Inspire and guide a cross-functional team of architects, SMEs, analysts, and PMO leaders.

What You'll Bring

  • 15+ years experience in financial services or consulting, including proven success leading major core banking transformations.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at executive program leadership level shaping vision, resolving conflict, and steering outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of core banking systems, data migration frameworks, and change governance.

  • Track record managing complex multi-vendor environments with high visibility and regulatory oversight.

  • Outstanding communication and political acumen able to translate technical delivery into business value.

  • Experience in large-scale integration, acquisition, or consolidation programs highly regarded.

Engagement Details

  • Contract: 12-month initial term (potential to extend or convert to permanent)

  • Location: Sydney or Melbourne (hybrid)

  • Global Mobility: Candidates may be based internationally (e.g., London, Singapore, Toronto, or similar) but must be willing to relocate to Australia for the initial 12 months of engagement.

  • Remuneration: Competitive, aligned to senior transformation leadership level
