Project Manager Identity & Privileged Access Management

 Job Description:

Melbourne | ️ 612 Month Contract + Extensions | ~$600/day

Are you a hands-on Project Manager who loves delivering security uplift that actually makes a difference?

Were looking for two PMs to lead critical Identity & Access initiatives across IAM, SSO, MFA and Privileged Access Management, high-visibility work that directly strengthens the organisations security posture.

If you enjoy bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex security programs, you'll thrive here.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of end-to-end delivery across identity and privileged access projects. Expect to work closely with security SMEs, application teams, infrastructure, and external vendors to drive meaningful outcomes.

You will:

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of IAM/PAM/SSO/MFA initiatives

  • Build and manage project plans, timelines, RAID logs, and resourcing

  • Work across multiple security & tech domains, bringing people together to align on outcomes

  • Manage risks, dependencies, scope and budgets with confidence

  • Communicate progress clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory expectations

  • Use Jira for ticketing/board management and maintain documentation in Confluence

This role is perfect for a PM who loves making security simpler, safer, and more user-friendly.

What You Bring

You don't need to be a deep security engineer but you do need strong familiarity with identity & access concepts and the problems these programs exist to solve.

You'll succeed if you have experience with:

  • Delivering IT security or identity-related projects

  • Core IAM concepts such as:

    • RBAC and role modelling

    • Difference between job profile vs role vs entitlement vs fine-grained entitlement

    • Authentication vs authorisation

    • Federation, SSO, MFA flows

  • Understanding what business problems IGA (Identity Governance) and PAM (Privileged Access Management) solutions address

  • Working with cross-functional teams in large enterprise environments

Most importantly, you're a structured, communicative PM who knows how to keep complex identity uplift moving.

Why Contractors Love This Role

  • High-impact work across multiple identity streams

  • Strong pipeline of extensions

  • Supportive security leadership team

  • Freedom to shape delivery practices your way

  • A genuine opportunity to uplift an organisations maturity in identity & access
