As a Data Engineer you will design and optimize pipelines and models on Databricks and Snowflake for regulated workloads, with strong documentation and evidence for audit.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years in data engineering with Azure or multi cloud

  • Databricks PySpark and Delta and jobs and repos

  • Snowflake performance and RBAC and streams and tasks

  • Azure Data Factory or Airflow, plus dbt for modeling

  • SQL Server or Synapse integration experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build secure and reliable ELT, manage secrets, and enforce roles

  • Deliver curated marts for CECL and risk and finance and product use cases

  • Add quality checks and lineage and drift monitors

  • Partner with platform teams on cost and reliability improvements

Outcomes we track

  • SLA adherence 95% across critical tables

  • Cost per TB processed improved 20% in 90 days

  • Audit evidence packs complete 100% and on time

Compensation and terms

  • Consultant pay $85 to $165 per hour 

  • Contract Hybrid Chicago IL or Remote US W2 or 1099
