- Workplace: Remote, targeted to any major metropolitan area in the U.S. excluding CA, TX, WA (Seattle), GA, CO (Denver), NY. You'll be empowered to develop new SBA 7(a) business in untapped markets where no LPO coverage currently exists.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience as an SBA Lender / SBA Business Development Officer (BDO), strictly focused on SBA 7(a) variable-rate loans
- Proven history of producing $15-$20MM+ in annual SBA 7(a) volume
- Experience working directly for a bank, not from a broker-only background or top-tier branch-fed institutions (e.g., Chase, BofA, Wells Fargo)
- Ability to independently source and close deals, with strong referral relationships (ideally 5+ active loan or real estate brokers)
- No 504 experience needed bank does not offer 504 products
- Stable employment history (no recent job-hopping; minimum 35 years at prior institutions preferred)
- Experience with Korean-American community banks or understanding of similar credit culture a plus
- Korean speaking is a plus
- Must be highly organized, self-managed, and ready to go live with minimal onboarding
Description:
- Developing and executing a business development strategy to generate new SBA 7(a) loan volume in your assigned region.
- Building and leveraging relationships with loan brokers, real estate brokers, small business owners, and other referral partners.
- Managing the SBA loan origination process from prospecting to close with minimal internal support.
- Collaborating closely with the banks centralized SBA credit team, including underwriters and portfolio managers, to ensure smooth, fast deal execution.
- Maintaining a strong, self-sourced pipeline of SBA 7(a) deals that align with delegated authority and credit appetite.
