Job Opening: Improvement Engineer at Fircroft

Fircroft is hiring an Improvement Engineer to enhance operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives within our facility.
Main Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Partner with plant operations, Technology Associates, Reliability, and other stakeholders to gather data for comparing plant performance against Technology Licensing performance expectations (TLA) and participate in external benchmarking assessments like PTAI or Solomon.
- Support plant teams in the setup and use of opportunity identification tools, including OTS, Innovate@, and the AU database. Identify improvement opportunities in the existing TICA work process and recommend initiatives for enhancement.
- Coach plant personnel on the classification, daily updates, and analysis of Asset Utilization data.
- Analyze plant performance data against TLA or benchmarking reports to identify key technology gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Collect and analyze financial and process data to assess the value of various improvement opportunities.
- Assist the Improvement Leader in prioritizing opportunities based on value creation, regulatory demands, and ease of implementation, while continuously updating the Gap Tool and Envelope Specific Technology Plan.
- Collaborate with Technology Associates and the Specialty Process Engineering group to define the best technical scope (MET) and process design for high-value or EH&S mandatory projects, preparing Stage 1 Engineering package deliverables through Gate 6, including preliminary cost estimation and economic evaluation.
- Work with the Project Engineering group to provide support in subsequent phases of projects until successful implementation is achieved. May act as the Manufacturing Representative for projects defined and moved into implementation.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance for plants.
- Collaborate with the Specialty Process Engineering team to offer technical support in areas such as process simulation, modeling, and optimization.
- Validate performance objectives of implemented projects with relevant data.
- Comply with EH&S guidelines and support the definition of Process Safety-related project scope in collaboration with TCAs and PA SIS Coaches.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Years of Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
