Position Summary
The Development Manager will oversee project developments from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves commercial management, project management, and stakeholder engagement, as well as providing input during project evaluations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage multiple project developments, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Provide technical assistance on local, state, and national affordable housing programs.
- Oversee leasing, partnership negotiations, contracts, and legal aspects.
- Identify partnership opportunities aligned with the companys strategic priorities.
- Support the identification of potential new projects.
- Develop business cases for identified projects in collaboration with relevant heads.
- Monitor relationships with partners and establish performance metrics.
- Coordinate project site management, documentation, cost management, and logistics.
- Ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate the induction of facility management services prior to commissioning.
- Maintain an updated knowledge management database.
- Track project schedules, budgets, feasibility, and client approvals.
- Focus on timely delivery of construction projects per organizational requirements.
- Act as a liaison between investors and projects, overseeing feasibility studies and development.
- Conduct detailed development appraisals for project feasibility and profitability.
- Manage the design and development teams for each project.
- Oversee schemes and opportunities throughout the development cycle.
- Monitor marketing portals for potential site acquisitions.
- Conduct market research to inform development models.
- Review planning policies relevant to project appraisals.
- Perform due diligence for land acquisition processes.
- Attend site visits as required.
- Track key data influencing investment decisions.
- Collaborate with project teams to enhance project value.
- Liaise with architects, consultants, authorities, residents, and management.
- Maintain accurate financial records and submit reports to the GM.
- Understand all facets of existing market-rate and affordable housing projects.
- Analyze project financial feasibility and ongoing performance.
- Demonstrate a successful record as a project leader, completing substantial development projects.
- Understand affordable housing development, including deal structuring and finance.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Understand community redevelopment principles.
- Demonstrate effective project management skills.
- Exhibit strong budgeting and data reporting skills.
- Possess advanced project management and MS Office skills.
- Exhibit effective business writing skills.
- Display a high degree of proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of regional laws regarding real estate and investment is advantageous.
