Job Summary

As a key member of the legal team, the Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support across all company functions and departments. This role is instrumental in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, contributing to corporate governance, and managing a wide array of legal matters, including contracts, labor law, project finance, data privacy, anti-trust, and intellectual property.

Job Duties

• Provide general legal advice and support to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and legal documents (e.g. supply agreements, framework agreements, EPCs, leases, NDAs, MoUs).

• Develop and maintain standard form contracts and legal templates.

• Oversee risk management and dispute resolution processes.

• Provide legal oversight on corporate secretarial duties as required.

• Review and advise on corporate policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

• Implement processes to monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.

• Prepare legal documentation and represent the company in legal proceedings, including oral and written submissions in court or administrative hearings.

• Perform other job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor or manager.

Skills & Competencies

• Law degree with at least 5 years of relevant legal experience in a similar function.

• Strong background in corporate law and finance.

• Experience within the chemical and oil & gas industry is a strong asset.

• Solid understanding of legal, legislative, and compliance requirements in the industry.

• Proven ability to assess and mitigate legal risks.

• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Familiarity with standard contracting principles and legal best practices.

• Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.

• Fluent in spoken and written technical and legal English.

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and disciplined.

• High level of ethics and integrity.

• Commercially aware with a broad understanding of business operations and financial considerations.
