Job Title: Unix Engineer

Location: Riyadh

Job Overview:

This team will manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and provide configuration and enhancements in support of the OpenShift, IBM Satellite Unix, AIX, and IBM Power Systems environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Management:

  • Install, configure, manage, upgrade, and decommission all client Unix, AIX, and Power Systems architecture.

• Scripting:

  • Develop shell scripts for various administrative tasks.

• User Management:

  • Perform user and group management through Unix LDAP.

• Patching & Security:

  • Apply patches on RHEL and AIX systems, install security packages, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

• System Evaluation & Troubleshooting:

  • Evaluate, install, test, configure, maintain, tune, and troubleshoot AIX and RHEL operating systems.

• Performance Improvement:

  • Consolidate multiple AIX systems onto fewer physical servers to improve performance and reduce costs.

• Server Hardening:

  • Conduct server hardening and patch/package installations within the Linux environment based on company policies.

• Standardization:

  • Establish standard hardware solutions for more predictable project implementations and supportable environments.

• Maintenance & Upgrades:

  • Maintain availability, increase capacity, and enhance the performance of production machines by upgrading hardware and firmware.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with Unix, AIX, and RHEL systems.
• Strong shell scripting skills.
• Knowledge of LDAP user management.
• Familiarity with system patching and security protocols.
• Experience in performance tuning and server consolidation.
