Position Overview:
As a Paralegal at First Care Medical, you will play a critical role in supporting our legal team in various aspects of the organization. You will work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, assist with legal research, and provide administrative support. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings
- Prepare and file legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and contracts
- Maintain and organize legal files and documents
- Assist with document review and organization
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, and other appointments for attorneys
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
- Provide administrative support, such as drafting correspondence and answering phone calls
- Keep track of important deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks
- Participate in case strategy meetings and provide input and recommendations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company
- Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and Compliance, to ensure legal compliance throughout the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys or legal department leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations is a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
