Project Information:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EDW Engineer with a strong background in data warehousing, particularly with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and legacy SSIS environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for modernizing our data integration processes, converting existing SSIS packages to robust and efficient ADF pipelines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our data platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conversion of existing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.

  • Conduct thorough reverse engineering of current SSIS processes to understand their functionality, identify dependencies, and pinpoint areas for improvement during the conversion to ADF.

  • Proactively seek and implement opportunities to optimize and enhance existing data integration processes as part of the modernization effort.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.

  • Work closely with data architects, data analysts, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Expert SQL Proficiency: Demonstrated expert-level understanding and hands-on experience with SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF): Expert understanding and extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.

  • SSIS Experience: Moderate experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), including the ability to analyze, understand, and troubleshoot existing SSIS packages.

  • Logic Apps: Practical experience with Azure Logic Apps for orchestrating workflows and integrating various services.

  • Version Control & DevOps: General understanding and practical experience with Git/GitHub for version control and familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • C#: Experience with C# for custom scripting or component development within data integration contexts.

  • Python: Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, or automation tasks.
