About the Role
We're hiring an Interventional Radiology Technician for a 90-day onsite contract assignment supporting vascular and neuro interventional procedures at a leading healthcare facility in Hartford, Connecticut.
This is a high-acuity clinical role within a fast-paced Interventional Radiology department where you'll provide technical, procedural, and patient-care support across complex imaging and interventional cases.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in both vascular and neuro interventional procedures, thrives in dynamic hospital environments, and is comfortable working rotating call schedules.

- Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM EST

Compensation
- Pay Rate: $72.07/hour
Additional Call Requirements
- On-call every other weekend
- Rotating weekday call schedule
- Holiday call coverage if applicable during assignment dates
- Additional call compensation available as scheduled
What You'll Do
Patient Care & Procedure Support
- Prepare procedure and examination rooms
- Position patients and equipment according to procedural protocols
- Explain procedures and provide patient education
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Follow radiation safety standards and exposure protocols
- Support physicians during vascular and neuro interventional procedures
Imaging & Technical Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality diagnostic imaging
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals as required
- Monitor image quality, density, and contrast
- Document scan sequences and procedural information within clinical systems
- Communicate important findings and procedural updates to physicians
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records
Equipment & Operational Support
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on imaging equipment
- Monitor inventory and maintain radiographic supplies
- Ensure imaging systems and equipment remain operational and compliant
- Support emergency repair coordination when needed
Administrative & Scheduling Support
- Coordinate daily procedure scheduling
- Prioritize urgent and emergent procedures
- Schedule patient appointments
- Answer technical and procedural questions from staff and patients
- Provide pre-procedure instructions and education
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technician experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Vascular interventional procedures
- Neuro interventional procedures
- Neuro interventional case experience is required
- Traveler or contract assignment experience preferred
Certifications & Licensure
- ARRT Certification required
- Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) License required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Current CPR certification required
Technical Skills
- Strong Interventional Radiology procedural knowledge
- Familiarity with imaging software and EHR systems
- Experience working in fast-paced procedural environments
- Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making abilities
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
Systems Exposure
Experience or training with:
- EPIC EHR
- Synapse imaging software
- Startrack tracking system
Training available if needed.
