This role is responsible for developing and executing regional sourcing strategies across several categories such as machining, fabrication, electronics, contract manufacturing and mechanical parts, as well as critical operational services within the APAC region.


Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy and Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute APAC sourcing strategies for assign categories
  • Lead regional sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
  • Monitor commodity trends, freight volatility, and regional supply-demand dynamics.
  • Deliver annual cost productivity targets while safeguarding service reliability and operational performance.
  • Support all sites globally with resourcing project initiatives

Supplier Quality & Compliance Governance

  • Collaborate closely with the Supply Quality Engineer to establish and enforce supplier qualification, audit, and performance management frameworks.
  • Jointly conduct supplier audits
  • Ensure suppliers meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers to address non-conformances.
  • Integrate supplier scorecards covering quality, delivery, cost, sustainability, and risk metrics.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and governance discipline aligned with corporate and customer requirements.

Supply Risk & Continuity Management

  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks including fiber availability, export controls, logistics constraints, and geopolitical exposure.
  • Develop dual-source and contingency strategies for critical raw materials.
  • Align closely with manufacturing site(s) to prevent production disruption.

Supplier and Business Partners Management

  • Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers and service providers across APAC.
  • Establish performance scorecards covering cost, quality, delivery, service level, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and strategic partners.
  • Drive long-term partnership models with critical mills, converters, and service providers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales and Operations to align sourcing strategy
  • Support Product Team on NPI (New Product Introduction) or reformulation projects with alternative material sourcing.
  • Align with the Global Sourcing team on category strategy, supplier consolidation opportunities, benchmarking, and implementation of global best practices to drive higher cost efficiencies and improved quality standards.
  • Provide market intelligence to leadership team on pulp and paper industry developments in APAC.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, preferably within industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing regional supplier portfolios within APAC markets.
  • Advanced commercial negotiation capability and contract management skills
  • High governance awareness and risk discipline.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and spend analysis tools.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proven success negotiating supplier agreements and delivering cost savings.
