As we strengthen our operational capabilities, we are seeking a highly competent and proactive Assistant Manager Finance to lead and oversee the companys finance department.
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager Finance will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of financial operations, including accounts management, statutory compliance, budgeting, reporting, and internal controls. This role will lead the finance team, ensure financial accuracy, and provide critical insights for business decision-making.
You will be the overall in-charge of the finance department and play a key role in maintaining financial stability and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire finance and accounts team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage cash flow planning, working capital management, and fund availability for operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Handle VAT, SVAT, PAYE/APIT, WHT, corporate tax, and all statutory filings and compliance.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
- Review and authorize payment runs, reconciliations, and financial entries.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Evaluate financial risks, propose corrective actions, and support strategic business initiatives.
- Ensure all finance processes and documentation are up-to-date, compliant, and audit-ready.
- Collaborate with senior management on cost optimization, pricing decisions, and commercial insights.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Fully qualified in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or CMA.
- 46 years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain finance is a significant advantage.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management capabilities.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and deliver accurate results.
