Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join 319 Logistics Pvt Ltd. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with Sri Lankan accounting standards, and supporting decision-making through accurate financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS).
- Manage tax compliance, including VAT, NBT, PAYE/APIT, WHT, and Corporate Income Tax filings.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, cash flows, and treasury operations.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory payments (EPF/ETF, gratuity, PAYE/APIT).
- Liaise with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Support management with financial insights for strategic planning.
- Maintain proper documentation of all financial activities for internal controls.
- Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate cost allocation for shipments and projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- Part qualification in ACCA, CIMA, CA Sri Lanka, or a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Minimum 24 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of Sri Lankan taxation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, Tally, or equivalent) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain companies.
- Knowledge of ERP/finance automation systems.
- Ability to liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
