Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by achieving monthly revenue targets, converting prospects into customers, and expanding wallet share among existing accounts. This role requires direct customer engagement, strategic territory planning, market analysis, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly revenue targets and new trader acquisition goals.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand business within assigned territory or segment.
  • Manage and service existing customers to maximize retention and increase share of wallet.
  • Meet weekly sales activity KPIs and ensure CRM tool usage is accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct customer visits, presentations, and negotiations to close business opportunities.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales reports and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Control team to ensure timely receivable collections.
  • Where applicable, mentor and train subordinates, guiding them on sales strategies and performance improvement.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and ensure issues are escalated and resolved promptly.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Business Management, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in sales, with at least 2 years in business development (preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain solutions).
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical ability and market awareness.
  • High sense of responsibility, integrity, and ability to work both independently and in teams.
