The Pharmacy Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a bulk dispensing and home delivery pharmacy. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and participating in activities related to medication dispensing, delivery, receipt, and handling, while ensuring full compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. You will help develop site-specific policies, procedures, and business plans, and manage overall production, quality, and customer service performance. Working alongside the Sr. Manager, Pharmacy Operations (or equivalent), you will also lead hiring, training, and performance management of pharmacy staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the pharmacy team through ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and employee relations management. Oversee recruitment and training efforts.

  • Ensure adherence to clinical and professional pharmacy standards, including compliance with regulatory, quality, and service expectations.

  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to set strategic goals, track performance, and report progress to senior management. Assist with budget planning and monitoring.

  • Optimize operational efficiency by analyzing workflow, implementing process improvements, and supporting initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.

  • Act as a key representative for pharmacy operations in cross-functional meetings and project teams. Communicate and implement new corporate initiatives within the pharmacy.

  • Support pharmacy operations during peak periods, including patient counselling, prescription review and verification, and other patient-centered tasks.

  • Coordinate daily pharmacist scheduling to align with business needs; collaborate with management to assess overtime requirements.

  • Assist with client visits and tours as needed. Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • RPh or PharmD required; additional education in management, finance, or a related field considered an asset.

  • 4-6 years of supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting.

  • Experience in pharmacy benefits management or working within a bulk dispensing environment (e.g., home delivery, long-term care, specialty pharmacy) is preferred.

  • Active NB pharmacy license in good standing.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications; experience with Kroll is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of current pharmacy regulations, with experience in strategic planning and budgeting preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally to enhance efficiency, quality, and service.

  • Effective communication skills and a proactive, positive approach to managing change.

  • Flexibility to work varying hours during peak times, with occasional travel within Canada.
