We are seeking a permanent OBIEE Developer to join our clients IT team as a key member of the DBA function. This role is responsible for designing and developing BI interfaces and ETL processes for the OLAP data warehouse, providing level-2 technical support for database programming, conducting data analysis, developing forecasting models, and generating reports using OBIEE, ODI, and Oracle Database. The position also includes responsibility for patching and upgrading OBIEE, ODI, and Oracle DB, customizing reports, optimizing processes, and expanding OLAP data structures.

Responsibilities:

OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition):

  • Collaborate on the design and delivery of enterprise-level analytics solutions

  • Scope and plan reporting projects, including requirements gathering, data analysis, and business logic transformation

  • Modify and optimize OBIEE repository layers, data models, and subject areas

  • Work with BI System Analysts to build reports using OBIEE and BI Publisher

  • Design and support visualizations such as dashboards, scorecards, operational and scheduled reports, and ad-hoc queries

  • Optimize performance by analyzing queries and tuning OLAP structures

  • Document and manage OBIEE administration processes and policies

ODI (Oracle Data Integrator):

  • Conduct data analysis to support OLAP and ETL processes

  • Design, implement, and optimize ETL jobs and mappings

  • Provide data cleansing guidance to application developers and support DBAs in ETL troubleshooting

  • Document all ETL processes and ensure knowledge sharing within the team

Oracle DBA:

  • Develop in Oracle using SQL and PL/SQL

  • Support core DBA tasks including database monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Assist with patching and maintenance activities

  • Collaborate with the Data Architect on schema design and changes

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of OBIEE, ODI, and Oracle DB through proactive system administration and change management

  • Manage upgrades, patches, and ongoing maintenance per business needs

  • Provide timely updates to management regarding task progress and any critical issues

  • Support Level 1 technical staff as needed and escalate to Level 3 or vendors when required

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level BI application development and support, including OBIEE maintenance, catalog migration, repository and role-based security administration

  • 3+ years of experience designing and managing ETL processes, preferably with ODI, including tuning, documentation, and environment migration

  • 3+ years of Oracle database development and support using PL/SQL and SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in RHEL environments with an understanding of WebLogic, Fusion Middleware, and Identity Management

  • Basic Linux administration, storage, and networking knowledge

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
