Must Have:
User Interface Design: Create effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces across web, mobile, and digital platforms.
User-Centered Design Approach: Apply iterative design practices based on user testing, feedback, and usability best practices.
Design Deliverables: Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and sitemaps optimized for multiple devices.
Experience with Ontario Design Systems (ODS).
Research Planning & Execution: Design and conduct user research using qualitative and quantitative methods (interviews, surveys, usability testing, A/B testing).
User Behaviour Analysis: Analyze user needs, behaviours, and motivations to inform design decisions.
Design & Prototyping Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard tools for UI/UX design and research documentation.
Strong facilitation skills, working with various stakeholders including the technical team and business team - ability to draw consensus.
Experience with Figma, Adobe suite, Miro
Ensure that deliverables align with accessibility standards (e.g., AODA/WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
Nice to have:
Some experience with Azure/DevOps.
Prior OPS or Public Sector exp.

Experience:
- Responsible for designing and delivering user-centered digital interfaces, including wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web and mobile applications.
- Responsible for incorporating stakeholder and user feedback into design iterations, ensuring timely updates to design artifacts and deliverables.
- Ensure that activities are undertaken following the Client's digital service standards, accessibility requirements, and UX best practices.
- Apply proven UX/UI frameworks, methodologies, and tools to support effective product design and research outcomes.
- Provide knowledge transfer, advice, coaching, and facilitation to project teams on user experience and research best practices.
- Prepare design artifacts and associated presentation materials, including user flows, journey maps, research findings, and recommendations.
- Review and ensure quality of design deliverables, ensuring outputs align with business objectives and user needs.
- Facilitate the development of user requirements, personas, and experience strategies with project teams, ensuring clarity in scope and expected outcomes.
- Ensure that deliverables align with accessibility standards (e.g., AODA/WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
- Provide advice on potential usability challenges and barriers to user adoption.
- Ensure that design solutions clearly and effectively communicate intended functionality, user interactions, and user journeys.
- Identify issues, risks, and mitigation strategies throughout the design and research lifecycle.
- Facilitate team reviews and approvals of design concepts and research findings, incorporating required updates.
- Provide advice and knowledge transfer to Client resources, including leading UX/UI and research practices.
- Identify risks and provide recommendations to mitigate risks through design validation and user testing.
- Participate in meetings with senior management and stakeholders, presenting design approaches and research insights as required.
- Apply knowledge of user behavior, industry trends, digital best practices, and emerging technologies to meet business objectives.
- Develop options and recommendations for design approaches based on research findings and business needs.
- Identify critical success factors with the project team to inform product usability and user satisfaction.
- Assist with facilitation of design workshops, co-creation sessions, and stakeholder alignment meetings.
- Support implementation teams by ensuring design specifications and assets are clearly documented for development.
- Provide advice on user experience considerations within Statements of Work (SOW) and project planning.
- Support onboarding of teams and stakeholders to user-centered design practices and tools, if required.
