The Human Resources Benefits Lead is responsible for the administration of all elements of our benefit programs. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a strong working knowledge of HRIS systems, a collaborator able to help colleagues navigate the choices and systems to make the best benefit decisions for themselves. They will be able to manage the relationships with multiple stakeholders as well as various outside vendors to the best outcomes.

Human Resource Benefits Lead will be responsible for the following:

  • Communication: Youll handle direct communications with employees, addressing their concerns promptly.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain digital records of staff and vendor interactions, including inquiries, comments, and complaints.
  • Enrollment Management: Process employee enrollments and maintain accurate and complete records. Coordinate and manage successful open enrollment periods.
  • Vendor Management: Manage annual renewals, including competitive bidding and negotiation; plan evaluation and open enrollment participation.
  • Leave Management: Responding to staff and managing record-keeping regarding leave eligibility, usage and availability.
  • Financial Tasks: Review and approve monthly billing reports and verify vendor bills for accuracy and payment. Coordinate with Fiscal regarding all payroll deductions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Audits and Reporting: Coordinate annual 403(b) audit; complete the 5500 filing; Workers Compensation reporting as well as ensuring that all other compliance requirements are met.
  • Other: Perform various other duties related to benefits administration; develop new offerings and ways to engage staff.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data. Proven experience accessing various databases as needed.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with all levels of business partners; able to make complicated material easily understood.
  • Excellent time management skills; strong attention to detail; ability to independently plan and set priorities.
  • Enjoys collaborating in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. In some cases, relevant experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years related experience
  • Professional designations preferred SHRM -SCP, SPHR or CEBS.
  • Deep understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, 401k retirement plans.
